- The Ubuntu 5.10 CDs arrived yesterday
- I did a clean install onto the Dell laptop
- The 5.10 default Gnome desktop appears to run slightly more responsively than 5.04 (256 Mb ram and a 700MHz processor)
- The instructions for connecting a SpeedTouch USB modem to a DSL broadband connection work!
- The mouse is still not recognised when you boot up – you have to unplug and replug it
- The fan fix does not work now, so back to the forums
