Neison's Moon maps

Scans from photocopies of the maps in The Moon and the condition and configuration of its surface by Edmund Neison (AKA Edmund Neville Nevill). The maps are based on the Born and Madler maps but contain slightly different names. The table below contains links to each of the 22 maps arranged in their approximate positions on the Moon's face, with South up as is traditional when using a Newtonian telescope. Crisium is thus in Map 1.

Neison's book was written in 1876 and there are surviving relatives. If there is a copyright issue with these scans, please contact me on ping dot keith at googlemail dot com. There is at least one commercial CD-ROM available with better quality scans - the scans on this page are from photocopies!
